Biography

Rodia Vance has advised law school applicants for over 20 years. During that time, she has seen the highs and lows of law school admissions and has helped hundreds of applicants navigate the sometimes uncertain pathway to achieving their law school dreams.

Consulting Approach

Rodia focuses on a holistic approach to application preparation that goes beyond “just the numbers.” She works with applicants to determine their specific, individual narrative and craft an application package that supports that narrative throughout all of its components. Rodia believes this is the best way to become a stand-out applicant in a sea of “numbers,” especially at top law schools, where she has assisted all types of applicants in gaining admission over the years.

Experience & Education

Rodia is well-known and respected among law school admissions professionals across the country, both through her long tenure in advising as well as through her regional and national leadership in the field of pre-law advising over several years.

  • Former President of the Southern Association of Pre-Law Advisors (SAPLA)
  • Former member of the Pre-Law Advisors National Council (PLANC)

She holds the following degrees.

  • Juris Masters (J.M.) from Emory University School of Law
  • M.S. in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University
  • B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida with honors

Personal Note

In her spare time, Rodia can usually be found in her kitchen (also known as her “happy place”), where she is inevitably tinkering with some new recipe in her never-ending quest to be a master chef. In pursuit of balance, and an effort to mitigate damage to her waistline from said quest, she also enjoys afternoon runs around her local parks.

My experience with Spivey was incredibly helpful and made navigating the law school application process much more straightforward. In addition to helping me gain an inside view of the admissions process, Rodia Vance was very comforting, gave me the confidence to present myself in the best light, and helped assuage some of the nervousness associated with applying to law schools. My desired outcome for the cycle was to simply be admitted to a law school, somewhere, anywhere, and I finished the admissions process with scholarships to all but two of the schools I applied to, finally accepting a full tuition and stipend offer from an in-state school.
